I just bought a MF1205 16HP. I am not sure what size implements to buyI just bought a MF1205 16HP and need some implements for it. I will need a blade for my gravel driveway,a boxscrape for part time landscapeing,a post hole digger for fencing,and a bush hog. I don't know what would be better to do go with a plow,disc harrow,and cultivator for the garden or a 3pt hitch tiller. I also don't want to spend the money for a front end loader right now and am considering a 3pt hitch dirt scoop. I am thinking that I don't need to go over 4 feet on the blade,bush hog,and boxscape and have no idea of size on the garden stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Warren - I looked at the 1205 before I bought my Kubota B1700, which at 17 horsepower is close enough for comparison I would think. Looks like a nice tractor for a great price. I use a 5 foot rear blade on mine. I think it is a perfect size for moving heavy material like dirt or gravel, but for snow I am thinking of getting a 7 footer because the tractor moves snow so easily with the smaller blade I think I could move a wider path without taxing the machine or running out of power. I would stay away from a 4 foot blade simply because you will then be cutting a path more narrow than your wheels, which will make moving a berm of snow or getting real close to a wall with the blade impossible. For powered equipment like a rotary mower ("bush hog"), snow blower, or a tiller, I have been advised to stay at 4 feet wide. I think this is mostly due to weight not horsepower. I have a flexible tine harrow to drag my riding arena, and it is a 6 foot width, which the tractor handles with ease. A rear scoop looks handy too, and I saw a 30 inch wide model mounted to a B7300 (16 hp) which looked like a perfect fit. ....

Paul, Warren, yours are about the same size that I use on my 16 Hp Yanmar 4wd. Plus for the same reasons. Although I think that my back blade might be 6' than 5'. I can measure it tomorrow if you like. I do know that I wouldn't want it any wider, but wish that it was as much as 300# heavier. I've added 200# and it just keeps getting better. I tried a back blade with offset. Although the tractor could pull it, it kept pulling the tractor sideways.
Instead of a plow, I use a deep spring-tooth harrow with a gauge wheel to keep it at about 1 foot max depth. ....
